How To Do A Border In Word

Word

Open your Word document. Double-click the Word document to which you want to add borders. This will open the document in Microsoft Word. If you haven't yet created your Word document, open Word, click Blank document, and create the document as needed before proceeding. Select a line, from the style section that you want to add as a line border of your page. Choose the color that you want to add on the border. Define the width of the border using the Width drop-down menu. Click on the Apply to drop-down menu to select the page and document in which you want to apply a border.

Just stumbled across this old query whilst trying to find how to get two A5 sheets with a border on each onto one page. However, now discovered the quickest route is simply to go into Page Layout - select A5 size with portrait orientation - put in your required width of border - set up margins as required ... and now the lateral thinking bit: Keep pressing Enter key until you've scrolled down to a 2nd page and then go into Print Options and select '2 pages per sheet' - and lo and behold you get two A5 sheets with borders on one page. Type in whatever you need and print off and save as required.

Just found this fab blog post by ‘Curls and a Smile’ that shows you how to make a polka dot border in Microsoft Word. I had no idea you could do this and after following this tutorial I now have a fab red and white spotted page ready to type on. Fabulous!

You just pick a thick solid line border and then choose the colour. Then go down the Art list and find polka dots which are towards the end of the list. 🙂 Better instructions on this blog post here though – http://curlsandasmile.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/woohoo-i-got-it.html
